Kimberley City Council has adopted a zoning amendment for a proposed multi-unit residential development at 505 4th Avenue.
Council adopted the amendment at its final regular meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13, before the new council is elected.
The property is designated Residential in the Official Community Plan and was previously zoned Residential Standard (RS).
The property is located north of Tadanac Boulevard between 4th and 5th Avenues, abutting residential parcels to the north.
Council gave the bylaw first reading on June 22 and second and third readings on Sept. 28.
The new Multiple Unit Mixed-Use Residential (RMMU) zone permits multi-unit residential development as the primary use, with limited accessory commercial uses allowed on the ground floor.
Buildings may be up to 18 metres tall if a housing agreement designates at least 20 per cent of the units as affordable housing.
