Castlegar RCMP is investigating a break-and-enter at a local business in the 1500-block of Columbia Avenue that resulted in the theft of multiple sets of tires and rims valued at more than $10,000.
On October 7, police responded to a report of a break-and-enter that occurred just after midnight. Surveillance footage captured multiple suspects arriving in two vehicles before breaking into the business and stealing several sets of tires and rims.
Among the items stolen were satin black 18-inch Toyota alloy rims, Michelin X-Ice Snow tires (235/60R18), and Toyo Observe GSi6 LS tires (235/60R18).
Investigators are seeking assistance from the public in identifying two vehicles believed to be involved in the offence.
The first vehicle is described as an older-model recreational vehicle (RV), light in colour with blue pinstriping. The RV was observed carrying bicycles on the rear and what appears to be a red bag or other item on the roof. The second vehicle is described as a smaller light-coloured SUV.
“We are asking anyone who may have seen these vehicles in the area during the early morning hours of October 7, or who may have dash camera footage, to contact police,” said Cpl. Brett Urano, Media Relations Officer for the Castlegar RCMP.
“Even information that may seem minor could be valuable to investigators.”
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the Castlegar RCMP at 250-365-7721.
