The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) are reminding residents to break down concrete before disposing in landfills.
Concrete delivered to the Columbia Valley, Central, and Sparwood Landfills must be no larger than 50 cm (20 inches) in any dimension.
Maximum accepted size is 50 cm × 50 cm × 50 cm.
Please break oversized pieces down before arriving to support efficient concrete crushing and recycling. Oversized material may be refused.
The RDEK thanks the community for helping improve landfill operations and support concrete recycling in the region.
