A reminder for East Kootenay residents that development application fee changes are now in effect.
The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) has updated its fee schedule, as set out in the Regional District’s Development Applications Bylaw.
If you are preparing to apply, you are encouraged to review the updated fee schedule in advance to confirm the fee that will apply to your project.
The changes affect selected application types, including some development variance permits, certain development permit-related fees, subdivision referral fees, and other planning-related applications.
The RDEK encourages applicants to verify fees before sending in materials, particularly if they are planning a subdivision, development permit, variance permit, or another planning-related application.
The fee schedule changes include Development Variance Permits, amendments to issued Development Permits, Housing Agreement and Bylaw applications, Site Specific Floodplain Exemptions, Strata Conversions, subdivision referrals, and liquor or cannabis licence referrals.
Applicants who are unsure which application type or fee applies to their project are encouraged to contact RDEK Planning staff at planningdept@rdek.bc.ca or 250-489-2791 for assistance.
