The Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK) has advised that, effective immediately, a Water Quality Advisory has been issued for the Williams Mobile Home Park on Wood Lane in Windermere.
The RDEK and Interior Health recommend that children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems, and anyone seeking additional protection drink boiled water or a safe alternative until further notice.
For these at-risk populations, water intended for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice, or brushing teeth should be boiled for one minute.
The RDEK has issued this water quality advisory out of an abundance of caution following the replacement of a section of pipe as part of the Wood Lane water main replacement.
This Advisory is in effect for the residents within Williams Mobile Home Park and does not affect the rest of the community.
The public will be notified via RDEK’s website and the Windermere email group when conditions change or water quality has improved.
