A member of the Cranbrook Bucks is being recognized for his impact off the ice.
The BC Hockey League recently announced the Interior Conference’s Kyle Turris Community Award winners, highlighting contributions beyond the rink.
The award is given to BCHL players who go above and beyond in their community, with each team submitting a winner from their organization, along with the reasons they were chosen.
Cranbrook Bucks forward Nathan Simm won for his leadership and his commitment to community service.
“Nathan has shown himself to be a leader within our program, on the ice as well as off of it. He has consistently volunteered his time in many of our community outreach initiatives during his two years in Cranbrook. As a local Kootenay player, it has been great to see him giving his time and energy to the young people in our community,” said the Cranbrook Bucks in their nomination statement.
