Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for possible snow over the Pennask Summit- Kootenay Pass.
Trace amounts to 4cm of snow are expected.
An upper disturbance will pass over Southern B.C. and could bring some snow to some high elevation highway passes.
Snow levels are set to be lowered to around 1700 metres today and will linger until Wednesday.
Kootenay Pass is most likely to see potential snow accumulation this afternoon, whereas Pennask Summit is more likely to see snow accumulation tonight.
Visibility will likely be reduced at times.
Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
Always allow extra time for travel, as the weather in the mountains can change suddenly, resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
