A community roughly 20 kilometres north of Invermere may have to be a little more careful when drinking their water after crews repaired a section of the water main.
Edgewater residents from the north end of Cordillera towards Crescentwood experienced a water shutdown Wednesday afternoon (May 27) to help crews respond to an emergency curbstop repair.
“Out of an abundance of caution, once water service has been restored, a Water Quality Advisory will be in place for these affected homes,” wrote the Regional District of East Kootenay.
The district urges residents to boil any water meant for cooking or drinking, especially for at-risk populations such as children, the elderly and people with compromised immune systems.
Most Edgewater system users are not affected by the outage.
A boil water notice remains in effect for most Windermere residents on Wood Lane, up to the intersection of North Street, after a water main break earlier this week.
