Columbia Valley Search and Rescue sharing some exciting news on its social media pages over the weekend – it’s now CDFL certified.
CDFL or Class D Fixed Line will now allow the group to carry out ‘long line’ rescues from helicopters, often seen down on the Lower Mainland.
In fact, in the post, it said it was able to use its new certification to its advantage, plucking an injured mountain biker off Mount Swansea near Windemere.
CV SAR added, the new capability will make rescues faster, deliver medical attention sooner, and improve safety of its volunteers.
