Highway 93 through Kootenay National Park has reopened following avalanche control work.
Parks Canada says crews completed operations on Friday (March 20) after improved weather conditions allowed helicopter access to several avalanche paths.
Officials note that closures are implemented only when conditions pose a risk to motorists, and that efforts are made to keep disruptions as brief as possible.
Drivers are encouraged to check Alberta 511 or DriveBC for the latest updates, and to travel prepared with fuel, warm clothing, food, and emergency supplies.
