Cranbrook RCMP are asking for the public’s help after a man allegedly pointed what appeared to be a gun at two people at a local gas station.
RCMP say the incident happened Friday (Mar. 6) night, at 7:59 p.m., at the Centex station on Cranbrook Street North.
According to the RCMP, a man and a passenger were fueling their vehicle when an unknown male approached them, showed what looked like a small revolver, and pointed it in their direction before walking away.
RCMP say the suspect was last seen heading north while pushing a shopping cart.
The two individuals left the area for their safety and contacted the police.
Officers attended and searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect.
Investigators say they have since reviewed surveillance footage and collected evidence believed to be connected.
The suspect is described as an unknown male wearing a blue hoodie and black pants, and pushing a shopping cart.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam or surveillance footage from the area between 7:30 and 8:15 on March 6, 2026, is asked to contact Cranbrook RCMP at 250-489-3471 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
