On Saturday (Jan. 3), at approximately 5:35 p.m., Cranbrook RCMP, BC Highway Patrol, the Cranbrook Fire Department, and BC Ambulance Service responded to a collision on Highway 3/95 near Moyie, B.C.
RCMP say an eastbound white GMC Sierra lost control on a corner and collided with a westbound grey Jeep Cherokee.
Occupants of both vehicles suffered significant injuries and were transported to East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
The highway was closed for several hours as emergency crews provided care and investigators examined the scene.
RCMP say icy road conditions were a significant contributing factor in the crash.
Cranbrook RCMP continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information, including dashcam footage, to contact the RCMP non-emergency line at 250-489-3471.
