The Sparwood area set a new temperature record for December 14 on Sunday.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Sparwood reached a high of 8.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday, setting a new record for the date and surpassing the previous record of 8.0 degrees Celsius, set in 1980.
ECCC says temperature records have been kept in the area since 1969.
