The Canadian band Barenaked Ladies is set to headline the CPKC Holiday Train stop in Cranbrook this year, as the cross-country tour returns to the region on Dec. 14.
The band, active in the Canadian music scene for nearly four decades, is scheduled to perform outside the railway building at 25 Van Horne Street South at 9 p.m.
The performance is free to attend.
Cranbrook is one of several southeastern B.C. communities on the Holiday Train’s December schedule.
Earlier stops that same day include Sparwood at 3:15 p.m., Fernie at 5 p.m., and Jaffray at 6:40 p.m.
The train continues to Creston the following morning.
Barenaked Ladies are known for a string of hit songs, including One Week, If I Had $1,000,000, and Pinch Me, and have reportedly sold more than 15 million records worldwide.
Their appearance marks a return to Cranbrook exactly 10 years after their previous visit in 2015.
The CPKC Holiday Train is an annual event that aims to raise awareness and donations for local food banks.
Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to support local community organizations.
