A series of town hall meetings by the BC Wildlife Federation began over the weekend across BC.
At issue, for the BCWF, is the provincial government’s handling of dwindling numbers in fish and game and a lack of funding for conservation and habitat programs.
At a meeting Saturday in Cranbrook, the board’s East Kootenay representative Glenn Flynn said other jurisdictions, like the States, properly fund their programs…
Even with a private’s member bill being re-introduced by East Kootenay MLA Tom Shypitka, Flynn says a lot of damage has been done to BC’s wildlife sector, adding there’s also a lot of ‘bureaucratic paralysis” when it comes to addressing the problem.
