It’s a regular council meeting night tonight in Sparwood.
Included on the agenda is the Community Funding and Support Policy.
It’s be revisited after several applications were denied for not meeting the requirements for hosting.
It follows policy changes in October.
One of the suggestions council will consider is adding “Other local activities and community-focused projects deemed eligible by Council” to the policy.
The start time for tonight’s meeting is 6pm.
It’s also Committee-of-the-Whole tonight in Fernie.
Council will review a report from Streets & Fleet Manager Brad Bjarnason on this past winter’s snow removal response.
It will review equipment used and staffing, among other things.
In the report by Bjarnason, it said that $831,000 was spent to carry out work, slightly more than the 825K that was budgeted for.
The City, though, is able to take any shortfall from its Financial Stability Operating Reserve when that happens.
Discussion tonight will also centre around small-scale multi-unit housing with new legislation introduced by the province.
The meeting begins at 6:30 at the Seniors Drop-in Centre.
