Carts and kitchen bins for Kimberley’s new curbside organics waste collection program will be delivered to homes later this month.
This comes ahead of the new compost program starting in the city this Fall.
Each home will receive a small kitchen bin and a curbside cart to house compost in late August.
The small kitchen bin can be lined with newspaper or a paper bag and kept underneath your sink to collect kitchen food scraps, food soiled paper products and yard waste.
Once the kitchen bin is full, you can transfer the food waste to the curbside cart outside, to be collected weekly starting in September.
Pet waste or kitty litter will not be accepted as part of the organics collection program.
You can find more information at the Engage Kimberley website.
