Elk Valley RCMP is seeking public assistance to locate a boat which was stolen from Sparwood.
The 2021 black and yellow Mastercraft X26 boat and matching tri-axle trailer had been stored at the 1300 block on Cypress Drive before it was reported stolen around 8:52 AM Sunday.
The trailer’s hitch lock had been removed for warranty work and the boat was not suspected of being stolen for several days until the dealer had arrived to pick it up.

On April 23 2023 at approximately 08:52 AM, Elk Valley Regional RCMP received a report of a stolen boat and trailer from the 1300 block of Cypress Drive in Sparwood BC.
The complainant reports that his 2021 black and yellow Mastercraft X26 boat and matching tri-axle trailer had been stored at his friend’s place on Cypress Drive over the winter and was supposed to have been picked up for warranty work by the dealer.
In anticipation, the hitch lock had been removed.
At some point in the past few days while the friend was working, the boat was removed from the property by unknown suspects.
Believing it was the dealer making the pick up, it was not reported stolen for several days until the dealer did come to the location to retrieve the boat.
The boat and trailer are valued at over $220,000 dollars.
Neighbourhood enquiries thus far have been negative for security video or witnesses to the theft.
The boat was wrapped in a blue coloured tarp for protection over the winter, but the trailer would be easily distinguishable considering the unique colour scheme.

Elk Valley RCMP ask that any person(s) living in Sparwood Heights around the Cypress Drive area with security cameras review their footage and report any suspicious activity or images of the boat/trailer being removed from the area to Police.
