A long running fundraiser in the community is coming to an end.
Organizers behind the Battle of the Bats Slopitch Tournament and Fundraiser have announced the event will no longer be happening in the community.
The event has been organized for over ten years, with money raised through the fundraiser supporting families of local children going through hardships.
The tournament was last held in 2019, with COVID-19 restrictions preventing the event from happening in 2020 and 2021 and organizers being unable to host the tournament in 2022.
Tournament organizers say while they want to keep the legacy of the event alive, its just not feasible at this time.
