Kimberley’s Jason McBain wants to be re-elected to city council.
McBain was first elected in 2018 and has been pleased by the number of projects the city has been able to tackle in that time.
He says he still has some unfinished business with the municipality, due to COVID-19 pandemic happening in the middle of his first term.
“We had a pandemic that really made things a little bit more challenging for the group, even though we did get a lot of things done,” McBain says. “I felt like we accomplished a lot, dealt with some adversity that we didn’t expect we were going to have and I find it to be a rewarding experience.”
McBain played for several hockey teams internationally before working as a professional engineer.
He moved back to Kimberley in 2017 before being elected to city council a year later.
“I moved back here in 2017 for a reason,” McBain says. “I love our town, this is where I cut my teeth as a youngster and I’m happy to be back here and I’m happy to see Kimberley growing and people wanting to be here. Its a really cool time for our town.”
McBain is one of eight candidates in Kimberley’s city council race.
The Municipal Election is set for October 15th.
