Columbia Valley SAR called to action over long weekend


Columbia Valley Search and Rescue personnel received a few calls to action over August long weekend.

Early Saturday morning, crews helped RCMP to locate a missing person near Twin Lakes campsite, the subject was found in good health.

Early this morning, Columbia Valley Search and Rescue was tasked to assist RCMP in locating a missing person near Twin (Fish) Lakes campsite on Westside Road.

With the help of @glacierhelicoptersinvermere and mutual aid from @kimberley_sar teams searched the area. The person was located in good health.

On Sunday afternoon, crews were dispatched to Bugaboo Provincial Park for a technical mountain rescue.

A team of mountain specialists managed to find the subject in technical terrain, the person was brought to the care of BC Ambulance Service personnel.

Columbia Valley Search and Rescue was called out yesterday afternoon for a technical mountain rescue on Bugaboo spire in Bugaboo Provincial Park.
A team of CVSAR mountain rescue specialists accessed, located and transported the subject in technical terrain before being flown out and handed over the BCAS for further care.
