The Cranbrook Bucks are congratulating Tyson Dyck on becoming the first player in franchise history to be selected in the NHL Draft.
Dyck, a native of Abbotsford, was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the 7th round of the draft at 206th overall.
The talented forward gained plenty of recognition through his first full BCHL season, finishing the campaign with 75 points (34 goals, 41 assists) through 54 games. This landed Dyck 110th overall among draft-eligible North American skaters on NHL Central Scouting’s year-end rankings.
Dyck joined the Bucks from the Burnaby Winter Club Prep program for the 2021 pod season in Penticton, putting up 5 points through an injury-shortened 6 game campaign.
He has set benchmarks as the early leader in most Cranbrook Bucks offensive categories, including goals, assists and points, through his time in the Key City.
Dyck has committed to the NCAA Division 1 U-Mass program.
The Cranbrook Bucks thank Tyson Dyck for his many contributions to the hockey club and the community, the organization and its fans are beyond proud of this tremendous achievement.
The Bucks also wish to extend our congratulations to the several other BCHL players who were picked in this year’s NHL Draft.
