BC’s Minister of Health called Tuesday a “solemn day” as nearly 41-hundred health-care workers missed the deadline for mandatory vaccination.
Health workers needed to have two doses of COVID-19 vaccine by Tuesday or they would be put on unpaid leave.
Senior public affairs officer Marielle Tounsi issued an email on the vaccination status of workers based on regional health authorities.
That data is pictured below.
Interior Health has the largest number of workers not vaccinated at health authorities across the province.
A total of 1,369 of IH’s workers are reportedly not vaccinated.
That amounts to about seven percent of Interior Health’s workforce, compared to three percent of healthcare workers across the province.
The workers could potentially lose their jobs if they remain unvaccinated.
