The Kootenay-Columbia People’s Party of Canada candidate wants to enusre charter rights for Canadians aren’t eroding.
Sarah Bennett says the relatively new political party’s platform speaks to her core values.
“There really hasn’t been a party that I wanted to stand behind full force,” says Bennett. “But, the People’s Party of Canada is pro democracy and pro liberty, pro free speech, pro speaking without constraints, being able to speak from the heart without offending anybody.”
Bennett, a former Invermere District Councillor, says a PPC government would also phase out COVID-19 spending programs and would not impose mandatory vaccination mandates.
“I’m getting these horrible stories by email of people having to make a really tough choice about their own personal sovereignty or losing their jobs and supporting their family,” Bennett says. “For me, that’s a really critical issue. Obviously underemployment and unemployment and housing are huge [issues] in the Kootenays right now.”
Bennett has lived in Invermere for about 20 years and has a Bachelor of Political Sciences from McGill University.
Canadians head to the polls for the federal election September 20.
