Elk Valley residents are being warned to keep your garbage indoors when its not your pick-up day.
This from WildSafeBC Elk Valley Community Coordinator Andrea Fletcher, who is concerned over the number of wildlife and human conflicts being seen in the region.
She says the lingering snow in mountain ranges is forcing more animals to come into areas humans call home.
Fletcher says two bears have had to be destroyed in Fernie so far this year, due to easily accessible garbage being left out around the community.
She adds unsecured garbage attracts wildlife into the community and must be stored in your home or in a secure garage, vehicle or shed.
