BC looks to expand Alert Ready system to include wildfire and flood warnings

The BC government is testing its wireless alerting system today, as they plan to expand the use of the alerts on phones and TVs.

The Province recently announced they are expanding use of the Alert Ready system in BC beyond tsunami warnings and Amber Alerts.

This year, it will also include alerts for floods and wildfires.

During the test, an alert will be broadcast through TV and radio stations as well as on compatible devices – the test is set for 2:55 pm Mountain Time on Wednesday.
