Statistics Canada has updated its 2021 Census to include data on average ages by city or community.
Cranbrook’s average age of population is 44.4 years old, 1,210 of Cranbrook’s 20,495 residents are within the 40-44 year old age group.
The average age of population in Fernie is a little younger at 39.3 years old, 605 of the city’s 6,315 residents are in the 35-39 age group.
Kimberley’s average age of population is 44.4 years old, 565 of Kimberley’s 8,115 residents are in the 40-44 age group.
