Cranbrook gold miners will be featured on TV next month.
Pan in a Can Pay Dirt’s Nip Tuck Gold Mine will be featured in an upcoming episode of documentary series Gold Rush: Freddy Dodge’s Mine Rescue.
Co-owner James Deraspe says Dodge and the film crew paid the mine a visit in September, shortly before closing down for the season.
“They were looking for gold miners that could use the help of the famed Freddy Dodge, he’s a bit of an expert in the field as far as wash plants,” Deraspe says. “We just reached out to the producers and said Hey! We would be interested. They ended up coming up here and shot the episode.”
He says the episode was a great opportunity to celebrate the area.
“Show off our businesses that we created for locals,” he says. “A lot of people locally come up there quite often. We’re just so happy that were able to show it to the world as well as- hey! Who doesn’t like to be on TV?””
The Mine Rescue episode featuring Nip Tuck airs on Discovery+ May 6th, and is tentatively scheduled to air May 16 on Discovery Channel.
