A club in Cranbrook wants to participate in a global call for peace.
The Interact Club of Cranbrook approached city council Monday night to propose installing a peace pole at Idlewild Park.
The pole would display the words “May Peace Prevail on Earth” on it’s side in the language of whatever country it is located, it’s meant to symbolize humanity and the wish for world peace.
The interact club’s plans to install the pole with a rock garden at Idlewild Park in May, with a dedication ceremony in June.
