The City of Fernie has activated their Emergency Operations Centre ahead of what’s supposed to be a major storm hitting the province.
Significant mixed precipitation is in the forecast and the city is working to coordinate and respond to any potential hazards that could come from the weather.
The city’s Operations department and engineers are working around the clock to protect critical infrastructure and the safety of the community as we navigate the recovery phase of last week’s storm.
Anyone seeing or experiencing flooding that is causing property damage is asked to report it to Fernie Fire and Emergency Services by calling 250-423-4226.
