Mainroad East Kootenay Contracting is urging motorists to be cautious on the roads as rain and wet snow are expected in Fernie and Elkford.
Over the next few days, rain and wet snow with accumulations up to 15cm are expected.
Crews have been pre-treating the roads and will be responding to weather 24/7.
Drivers are reminded to make sure their winter tires are in good condition and to carry an emergency kit in their car.
