The Regional District of East Kootenay Area F director will serve as the board’s vice chair for the 2nd year in a row.
Susan Clovechok was acclaimed to the role earlier this month, she’ll serve with Area C’s Rob Gay continuing his role as chair.
Clovechok is happy to work with Gay again, and will be providing support and backup when needed.
“It’s a big learning curve I think, to be chair. So, I’d like to get a little bit more involved in some of the work that the chair does,” Clovechok says. “So, that in 2022, when there’s a new local government election and likely a turnover at the RDEK board, I am ready to be chair if that’s what’s required.”
Clovechok says it is a pleasure to work with the RDEK and is proud of the work staff have done.
“The increase in workload over the last year, well eighteen months particularly, has been significant and we’re doing it with same sized teams,” she says. “We’re very fortunate to have the crews that we do.”
