The Kimberley RCMP recorded 618 calls for service in the second quarter, an increase of nearly 18 per cent from the first quarter.
Mounties responded to 618 calls between July 1 and Sept. 30, up from 506 between April and June. The total was also slightly higher than in Q2 of 2025.
Acting detachment commander Cpl. Dean Kletzel presented the second-quarter report to council on Tuesday (Oct. 13). He said the detachment’s three priorities for the 2026-27 fiscal year are traffic – speeding enforcement, theft, and police-community relations.
Police recorded 123 traffic and vehicle incidents in the second quarter, up from 94 in the first quarter. Fraud, firearms, mischief and property calls rose to 81 from 70 in Q1.
