The Fernie Ghostriders put on another dominate win on Saturday (Sept. 26) pulling off a shut-out against Columbia Valley Rockies 4-0 at Fernie Memorial Arena.
Ghostriders’ captain Liam Breakenridge opened the scoring 13:11 into the first period with assists from Carter Singleton and Boston Logan.
The second period was scoreless but there were plenty of penalties. The third was a goal frenzy for Fernie.
Three minutes into the third frame, Ghostriders defensemen Domenic Rattai scored with assists again from Singleton and Logan.
Fernie forward Hunter Jaman scored to give the Ghostriders a 3-0 lead at 15:16 into the frame.
In the last ten seconds, Ghostriders’ defensemen Koa Percival sealed the win with assists from Rattai and Carter Chown.
Ghostriders’ goalie saved all 22 shots faced, while Rockies’ netminder Ivan Tourin faced 54 and saved 50 shots.
Next up, Fernie hosts Quesnel River Rush at Fernie Memorial Arena on October 3.
