A little community fixture along Highway 95-A in Kimberley is gearing up to lock its doors for the last time this weekend.
The Timber Hitch Coffee Shop and Rustic Hutch Consignment are closing as owners Brenda and Todd Banister look toward spending more time with their family.
“To our amazing customers, this dream would not have been possible without you, so we thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” said Brenda. “[W]e can’t thank our amazing staff, past and present, enough; you are what made the Timber Hitch what it is today.”
Rustic Hutch began in 2013 as a 2,000-square-foot decor and furniture store in the Marysville neighbourhood. After some success with the shop, the couple then decided to open the city’s first drive-thru and sit-down coffee shop in Kimberley two years later.
“It started off small,” Brenda added.
“When the opportunity came that the whole building could be rented, that is when I decided to add a small coffee shop. Well, that small coffee shop made us reconfigure the Rustic Hutch, but I wanted to keep a small shop for customers to purchase unique items.”
The coffee shop and furniture store are both located at 724 304th Street. Residents are invited to use up any remaining gift cards and shop discounted items by the last day, Saturday, August 29.
