A team of local landscapers has recently received an Outstanding Achievement Award for their recent work on a remote mountain property in the Kootenays.
The Canadian Nursery Landscape Association has recognized the Canadian Rockies Landscape for Green Innovation on its Off-Grid Oasis – a 3.8-acre project perched on the Canadian Rockies designed to honour the homeowners’ desire for a private retreat.
CRL Manager Jennifer Krotz says the project challenged them to work carefully with the property, which posed challenges including remote access, conservation and drainage.
“To have this project recognized nationally for Green Innovation is incredibly meaningful for our entire team,” said Jennifer Krotz, CRL manager.
“We wanted to create something beautiful and functional while respecting the environment and the realities of building in a remote mountain setting.”

The team has previously received two BC Landscape Awards for Landscape Design and a Green Stamp award.
Roughly 130 industry members from across Canada attended this year’s National Awards of Landscape Excellence held on August 11 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
