The Evacuation Order for the District of Summerland has been partially downgraded to Evacuation Alert for some properties in response to the Bald Range Wildfire. More than 150 properties in the district have been damaged or destroyed.
This has enabled partial re-entry for Summerland Proper west of Highway 97, up to and including a portion of Cartwright Avenue and a portion of Haddrell Avenue (south of Dale Meadows Road).
Impacted people may return home but should be ready to leave on short notice.
Properties not included in the specified area remain on Evacuation Order. Below is an updated map of the Evacuation Alert.

The Regional District Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) released a statement confirming that 150 structures have been damaged or destroyed in the District of Summerland because of the Bald Range Wildfire.
Approximately 110 damaged or destroyed structures are in Electoral Area “F”, including the Faulder and Meadow Valley areas, and 40 are in the District of Summerland.
There are currently still four major wildfires across B.C. in Ainslie Creek, Brunswick Creek, Bald Range, and Pear Lake.
Bald Range wildfire is currently estimated 21,391 hectares in size and originated approximately 15 kilometres west of Summerland on August 7.
