An EVACUATION ORDER remains in effect for properties in the Ta Ta Creek area in the immediate vicinity of the fire.
The Order has been downgraded to an Evacuation ALERT for an isolated number of properties around the Wait Creek wildfire.

The fire is currently estimated at 1,378 hectares with heavy equipment establishing machine guard from the south and along the north of the fire using existing roads with support from crews
There are continued efforts to hold the fire west of Highway 95A with crews patrolling east of the highway today (August 4), finding and extinguishing identified hotspots.
Aviation resources continue to support crews and heavy equipment on the ground.
On Monday afternoon (August 3), airtankers dropped retardant to help limit fire behaviour and spread in support of objectives
Danger tree assessing and falling work is ongoing and structure protection is in place in Ta Ta Creek.
Tower Creek Fires (N10947 & N10944) – west of St. Mary Lake
An Evacuation ALERT remains in effect for 66 properties in the St. Mary Lake area with BC Wildfire Service reporting little operational change.
N11020 Matthew Creek Fire – west of Kimberley
The Area Restriction for the Matthew Creek area remains in effect with the fire estimating to be 1,715.5 hectares in size.
Control line planning, construction, and reinforcement work is ongoing by crews and equipment teams.
Danger tree assessment and falling is ongoing wit helicopters delivering water to cool the fire’s edge to support crews building guards.
N11326 – Ranger Lake
The fire is estimated at 22 hectares with control lines being established on the west flank with crews and heavy equipment.
N11396 – McGuire Creek
The fire is estimated to be 4.24 hectares and is being monitored.
There are no other significant updates to share on any of the other fires.
