BC Wildfire Service says an area restriction is in effect in the Jumbo Creek Area in relation to the wildfire.
The Jumbo Creek fire is burning approximately 38km west of Invermere and is currently estimated to be 145ha in size.
This Order applies to Crown land within the geographic boundaries described below and as outlined on the attached map.
- Commencing at Point #1, the 1km marker on Jumbo Creek Road (50° 21.124′, -116° 25.086′)
- From the Point #1, the 1km marker on Jumbo Creek Road (50° 21.124′, -116° 25.086′), due south approximately 450m to the height of land at Point #2 (50° 20.884′, -116° 25.137′)
- From Point #2 (50° 20.884′, -116° 25.137′), along the height of land west to Point #3, Blockhead Mountain (50° 18.500′, -116° 35.994′)
- From Point #3, Blockhead Mountain (50° 18.500′, -116° 35.994′), along the height of land north to Point #4, Mount Osiris (50° 25.223′, -116° 39.195′), excluding Jumbo Pass Hut
- From Point #4, Mount Osiris (50° 25.223′, -116° 39.195′), along the height of land northeast to Point #5, Glacier Dome (50° 26.275′, -116° 37.425′)
- From Point #5, Glacier Dome (50° 26.275′, -116° 37.425′), along the height of land east to Point #6, Paradox Peak (50° 23.169′, -116° 23.370′)
- From Point #6, Paradox Peak (50° 23.169′, -116° 23.370′), along the height of land south to Point #7, Height of land (50° 21.083′, -116° 24.613′)
- From Point #7 (50° 21.083′, -116° 24.613′) due west approximately 565m to Point #1, the 1km marker on Jumbo Creek Road

The east approach to Jumbo Pass Hut is included in the restriction; access is only permitted from the west. Jumbo Pass Hut is not included in the restriction.
