One of the Kootenays’ biggest cycling events is coming back this year to raise funds for much-needed community organizations, such as the Kimberley/Cranbrook Hospice Society.
Cranbrook Sunrise Rotary Club and JCI Kootenay are leading the 11th annual Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo on September 12, offering cyclists a fully supported and traffic-controlled ride through the region’s most scenic roads before hosting celebrations at St. Eugene Resort and Casino near Cranbrook.
“The partnership brings together Rotary’s long-standing commitment to community service with JCI Kootenay’s focus on leadership development and volunteer engagement,” said JCI Kootenay.
“Together, the organizations are committed to ensuring the Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo continues to grow as both a world-class cycling event and a meaningful fundraiser that benefits communities across the region.
Cyclists can choose between a 58-, 102- or 152-kilometre ride.
Registration and more details are available online through the Gran Fondo website.
