Residents and businesses may soon receive their dues for the year as the City of Cranbrook mails out property tax notices this week.
Anyone looking to make payments can do so at City Hall, by telephone, through online banking, or via the City’s online portal accessible from the code at the top left of your tax notice, under the address portion.
Those enrolled in the pre-authorized payment program may note that a balance remains owing because the prepayment includes the June 15th payment, according to the City.
Any overpayment on 2026 property taxes will be added to the first payment of next year.
If your notice has not arrived by the second week of June, you’re asked to contact the City at 250-489-0233 or email taxclerk@cranbrook.ca to receive a copy.
Taxes and homeowner grants are due by 4:30 p.m. on July 2 for all properties, after which any overdue amounts will incur a 10 per cent penalty.
Homeowners can apply to the regular or the Families with Children deferment program through the B.C. government, if needed.
