Residents will notice a small change to their curbside recycling collection in
Cranbrook starting on Friday, May 1, 2026.
City officials say SRP Environmental Inc is taking over the collection operations
for the city from GFL.
While the collection trucks may look different, the city says residents can be assured that everything else about the curbside recycling service remains the same.
Officials say accepted materials, pickup schedules, and collection zones are not changing, and residents should continue placing their recycling carts curbside as they normally would.
According to city officials, it’s contract with GFL was ending, so a Request for Proposal was undertaken, and SRP Environmental Inc was the successful contract bidder.
The city says its grateful to GFL for their partnership and great service with their curbside recycling these past few years.
Anyone with questions or concerns including missed pickups are asked to contact SRP Environmental Inc directly at 250-946-8370 or by email at sales@srpprojects.ca.
