JCI Kootenay donated more than $4,000 to the Cranbrook Food Bank following a successful Santa Claus Parade.
The organization says $4,140 was raised at the 54th annual parade on November 29, 2025, which drew an estimated 3,000 people to downtown Cranbrook.
The annual event is a long-standing holiday tradition in the community and serves as a key fundraiser for the food bank.
In 2025, JCI Kootenay expanded its efforts with a toonie drive and a Reserve Advent Calendar campaign.
Organizers say the food drive collected more than 500 pounds of food, valued at $1,800.
Cranbrook Food Bank executive director Julie Rose says the organization is grateful for continued support.
She says the parade brings the community together and helps support the food bank’s mission of a hunger-free Cranbrook.
Event co-chair Shane Nickel-Thibodeau says strong community participation made this year’s fundraiser a success, adding organizers are already looking ahead to November.
Co-chair Rebecca Odnokon says the turnout exceeded expectations and highlighted the importance of volunteers and community support.
JCI Kootenay is a non-profit organization focused on leadership development for people aged 18 to 40.
