Local non-profit organizations and community groups are being reminded that applications for the City of Cranbrook’s municipal grant program are due Sept. 1, 2026.
The city says the deadline is strict, and late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
The city is urging groups to start early, submit ahead of the deadline, and double-check applications to avoid problems such as missing information or technical delays.
Officials also note the program has a limited budget, and council aims to distribute funding across as many organizations as possible.
In 2026, council says they approved a total of $124,008 in municipal grants supporting community services, arts and culture, recreation, festivals and other initiatives.
Among the funding recipients were the Cranbrook & District Arts Council ($21,000), Cranbrook & District Search and Rescue ($13,720), BGC Cranbrook ($11,510), and the Ktunaxa Nation Council Street Angel Program ($11,570).
Other organizations receiving funding included the Salvation Army ($9,290), Spirit of the Rockies ($10,000), KidSport ($2,180), Cranbrook Community Theatre ($6,140), Cranbrook Food Bank Society ($5,000), and the Fisher Peak Performing Artists Society ($4,290).
Smaller grants were also awarded to groups such as the Symphony of the Kootenays ($2,710), Summit Community Services Society ($2,420), and the Wycliffe Exhibition Association ($360).
Grant guidelines, eligibility criteria and application details are available on the City of Cranbrook’s website.
