A recent Cranbrook bake sale has warmed hearts and made an impact for animals in need, raising approximately $3,740.
The bake sale was held this past Saturday (Mar. 28), Meant 2B Loved Pet Rescue Society (M2BL) said, with the help of 40 volunteer bakers, including several local businesses.

Held twice a year, the bake sale has become a key fundraising initiative for M2BL.
M2BL says proceeds go directly toward food, supplies, and critical medical treatment.
“In March alone, we brought in seven animals, which quickly became 13 after one stray cat gave birth to six kittens,” organizers shared.
“That meant eight spay and neuter procedures from just one intake. These fundraisers allow us to keep saying yes to helping animals.”
M2BL says the need remains ongoing.
So far in 2026, five animals have required dental surgeries, with costs ranging from $800 to $1,800.
Two more procedures are already scheduled, including one for a cat named Roca. Dental disease, organizers note, is both common and painful–and one of the most significant medical expenses they face.
Organizers expressed gratitude to everyone involved, including the event host, volunteers, bakers, and those who helped spread the word or attended in support.
“This community continues to show up for animals in the most meaningful way,” they said.
With fundraising efforts bringing them close to the $4,000 mark, organizers encourage anyone able to contribute to consider donating.
Supporters are encouraged to follow along on social media for updates and future opportunities to get involved.
