On Friday, March 13, RCMP in the Elk Valley responded to a report of a head-on collision on Highway 3 near Hosmer.
Police, along with other first responders, attended the scene shortly after the report was received.
According to the RCMP, one of the drivers involved was transported to Elk Valley Hospital in stable condition.
The other driver was confirmed deceased at the scene.
Following the collision, Highway 3 was closed for approximately five and a half hours while emergency crews responded.
Officers say the investigation remains ongoing, though police do not suspect any criminal activity.
In a statement, the RCMP extended their condolences to the victim’s family and to everyone affected by the incident.
