Elk Valley Regional RCMP say a serious four-vehicle collision has closed Highway 3 east of Sparwood.
RCMP said the crash occurred early Monday afternoon (Feb. 16) at approximately 1:05 p.m.
One of the vehicles involved was a semi tractor-trailer.
RCMP responded along with Sparwood Fire Rescue, BC Emergency Health Services, and Alberta ambulance crews.
Several drivers and passengers have been transported to hospital.
The extent of their injuries has not been released.
Highway 3 is expected to remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues.
