Mounties in Cranbrook say they have tackled an unfounded weapons complaint after two armed men allegedly went into Tamarack Mall on Tuesday afternoon, January 13.
RCMP received a report of two gun-wielding individuals at around 4:30 p.m. on 1500 Cranbrook Street North.
General duty members rushed to the location and quickly found the reported men – who were actually uniformed security staff conducting their daily rounds.
“Unaware of the eventual outcome, the responding members once again were prepared to put the safety of the community above their own,” said S/Sgt. Barry Graham with Cranbrook RCMP.
Police are assuring witnesses that their safety was not at risk.
Drivers are also reminded to safely yield to all emergency vehicles with activated lights or sirens to ensure a quick response.
