Environment Canada is warning of an incoming snowstorm for Yoho National Park and Kootenay National Park, just north of Cranbrook.
Forecasters say an intense Pacific frontal system is moving across the Interior.
Light snow will begin this evening and intensify overnight, with the possibility of up to 20 centimetres of accumulation.
Snow is expected to continue throughout Wednesday (Dec. 10) night.
Roads and walkways may become slippery and difficult to navigate, and visibility may be reduced at times.
Environment Canada recommends allowing extra time for travel.
