The Dallas Stars announced Tuesday they’ve signed Red Deer Rebels forward–and former Cranbrook Buck– Jaxon Fuder to a three-year, entry-level contract.
The 19-year-old from Cold Lake, Alberta, is set to begin his NHL journey after going undrafted in the 2025 NHL Draft.
He reportedly impressed the Dallas Stars during development camp and later on an amateur tryout at training camp, aquiring the deal.
While the contract kicks in this season, the Stars have loaned Fuder back to the Red Deer Rebels for the rest of the WHL season.
Fuder made his debut last season, posting 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points in 46 games with Red Deer.
He also racked up 91 penalty minutes, the most out of all WHL rookies.
Before making the move to the Rebels, Fuder played three seasons in the British Columbia Junior A Hockey League, suiting up for both the Cranbrook Bucks and Powell River Kings.
During his time in the league, he ranked up 13 goals and 24 assists for 37 points across 76 games.
Fuder becomes the latest former Buck to earn an NHL contract.
